How Pricey makes money
Last updated 19 October 2026
In short
Pricey makes money in two ways: Premium subscriptions, and affiliate links. Some of the links that take you from Pricey to a store are affiliate links. If you buy something after tapping one, the store may pay us a small commission.
You don't pay any more because of it, and it doesn't change which offer Pricey shows as the cheapest.
Stores can't pay for a better spot
Pricey ranks offers by price. The cheapest offer that matches what you're looking for is shown as the best price, and commission plays no part in that.
- No store can pay to appear, to rank higher or to be labelled the best price.
- Stores that pay us nothing are shown exactly the same way as stores that do, and they often win the best price spot.
- Commission rates vary between stores. Pricey ignores them when ranking, so it will often send you to a store that pays us less, or nothing.
- Your alerts go off based on the price you set. Whether a store pays commission makes no difference to whether you hear about it.
Where you'll see this
A short version of this disclosure appears in the app under the list of store offers and on the Settings screen, and in the footer of every page on this site.
Which stores
We currently use affiliate programs from Amazon Australia, eBay Australia and The Good Guys. This list changes as we join or leave programs. Most stores you'll see in Pricey don't pay us anything.
Stores don't endorse Pricey
An affiliate program is a deal about referral fees, nothing more. It isn't a partnership or sponsorship. Stores shown in Pricey don't endorse, review or approve the app. Product names, logos and trade marks belong to their owners.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your personal information.
- We don't show ads or sponsored products.
- We don't take money from stores for better placement, and the app has no way to give it to them.
What stores and affiliate networks see when you tap a link, and what we record, is explained in the privacy policy.
Always check the price
Commission has nothing to do with accuracy, but prices and stock come from third parties and can be late or wrong. Check the final price with the store before you buy.
