Help with Pricey
Common questions
I'm not getting notifications
Try these in order. The first two fix most cases.
- Check notifications are allowed. Pricey asks for permission right after you set up your first watch. If you said no, nothing can come through. Open Profile, tap the settings icon, then Notifications, or allow them for Pricey in your phone's settings.
- Check the price actually reached your target. The Watching tab shows the current price next to your target for every watch. If it's still above, there's nothing to tell you yet.
- Remember it checks once a day. Every watch is re-checked every 24 hours, so a sale that starts and ends between two checks can be missed.
- Check the watch hasn't paused. Free watches pause after 90 days. Paused watches show in the Watching tab with a Renew button.
- On Android, check battery settings. Some battery savers block notifications from apps running in the background. Set Pricey to unrestricted.
Still nothing? Email us the product name, your target price, and roughly when you expected the alert.
Setting up and editing a watch
Search for the product, open it, and tap Watch this price. Then:
- Choose which stores to watch. If you pick several, you'll hear about it when any of them drops to your price.
- Pick a target: any drop, 5%, 10% or 15% off, the lowest price ever recorded, or type in your own number.
- Decide whether to include used and refurbished offers. They're left out unless you turn them on.
To change a target later, go to the Watching tab and tap the edit button on the watch. You can remove a watch from there too.
My watch says it's paused
On the free plan a watch runs for 90 days, then pauses. While it's paused Pricey doesn't check it or send alerts for it.
It hasn't been deleted. The product, your target price and your stores are all still saved. Tap Renew on it in the Watching tab and it runs for another 90 days. You can do this as often as you like.
Premium watches don't expire. See pricing.
Restoring a purchase
Open Profile, tap the settings icon, then Restore purchases. This checks the Apple or Google account you're signed in to on your phone, so make sure it's the one you paid with.
If Premium still doesn't show, check the subscription is active in your Apple subscriptions or your Google Play subscriptions, then email us with the email address on that store account.
Changing or cancelling your subscription
Apple or Google bills you for Premium, so you cancel with them, not in Pricey:
In the app, Profile, then the settings icon, then Manage subscription takes you to the same place. Cancelling stops the next renewal, and you keep Premium until the period you've paid for ends. Deleting the app doesn't cancel anything. See pricing and billing for what changes when Premium ends.
Moving to a new phone, or using more than one device
You don't need an account to use Pricey. The first time you open it, it registers your phone, and your watches belong to that install.
The easiest way to take them with you is to sign in. Open Profile, tap your account at the top, and choose Continue with Google or Continue with Apple. Do the same on the other device. Your watches and savings move to the account, and every signed-in device gets the same notifications.
If you'd rather not sign in, use a recovery key. On your current phone, open Profile, tap the settings icon, then Back up your watches. Save the key somewhere safe, like a password manager. On the new phone, go to the same screen and tap Restore after reinstalling. We can't look up or resend a key, and making a new one replaces the old one.
A price or store looks wrong
Prices come from third-party data and can lag behind the retailer's own site, especially during short sales. Always check the final price with the retailer before you buy.
If a listing is wrong, open it in the app and tap Report this listing. You can say whether it's the wrong product, the wrong price, the wrong store, a duplicate, an overseas seller or a broken link. We read every report, and they're how we fix bad matches. You can also email us with the product, the store, the price Pricey showed and the price you saw.
Deleting your account and data
If you've signed in, open Profile, tap the settings icon, then Delete account. If you never signed in, email us instead. Both routes are explained on the delete your account page.
Deleting your Pricey account doesn't cancel an Apple or Google subscription. Cancel that first.
