Terms of Use

These terms cover the Pricey app and this website. In short: Pricey finds and tracks prices and tells you when they drop. It doesn't sell anything, and it can't promise every price is right.

Effective 19 October 2026 · Version 1.1

Draft, awaiting legal review. This describes how Pricey works today. An Australian lawyer hasn't reviewed it yet, and one will before the app goes on sale.

1. Agreeing to these terms

By installing or using Pricey, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app. They're an agreement between you and the people who run Pricey, who you can reach at support@priceyapp.com.au.

These terms are also the end user licence agreement (EULA) for the app on iOS and Android, and replace the stores' standard EULAs.

2. What Pricey is

Pricey is a price tracking app. It searches retail offers that are publicly available, records price history, and lets you know when a product you're watching reaches the price you set.

Pricey is not a retailer. We don't sell, supply, ship, guarantee, repair or refund anything shown in the app. When you buy something, your contract is with the retailer alone. Questions about delivery, faults, returns, warranties or refunds go to them.

3. Prices and product information

Prices, stock levels, delivery costs, images, ratings and product descriptions come from third-party data providers and from retailers. They can be late, incomplete or wrong.

  • The price in Pricey may not be the price the retailer charges when you get there. Always check the final price, including delivery, at the checkout before you buy.
  • Price history is a record of the prices we saw. It can have gaps or mistakes, and it doesn't predict future prices.
  • Products are matched to offers automatically. Sometimes an offer will be matched to the wrong model, size or colour.

It's up to you to check anything you rely on before you buy.

4. Alerts aren't guaranteed

Pricey re-checks the price of each watch once every 24 hours, on both plans. It doesn't watch prices continuously.

Because of that, and because push notifications depend on your phone, your network and Apple's or Google's notification services, we can't guarantee that:

  • you'll get an alert for every price drop;
  • an alert will arrive, or arrive quickly; or
  • the price will still be available when you act on an alert.

A short sale can start and finish between two checks. Pricey makes deals easier to catch, but it can't promise you'll catch every one.

5. Your device, account and recovery key

Pricey registers your phone automatically, so you don't need an account. You can choose to sign in with Google or Apple to link your watches to an account. You're responsible for keeping your phone, any Google or Apple account you sign in with, and any recovery key you create secure. Anyone who has your recovery key can move your watches to their own device, and we can't look up or reissue a key.

6. Free and Premium plans

Both plans let you keep up to 50 active watches, and every watch is checked once a day. On the free plan, a watch pauses after 90 days until you renew it, and you get 5 photo searches a day. Premium watches don't expire, and photo searches are unlimited. The current details are on the pricing page.

Our servers enforce these limits. Trying to get around them by modifying the app or its traffic breaks these terms.

We may change plan limits. If a change reduces what you get from a subscription you've already paid for, we'll tell you before it takes effect, and you can cancel.

7. Subscriptions, billing and cancelling

  • Premium costs $49.99 AUD a year or $7.99 AUD a month, or the price shown in the app when you buy.
  • Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase. Apple and Google take the payment. We never handle or store your payment details.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends.
  • You can cancel any time in your Apple or Google Play account settings. Cancelling stops future renewals, and you keep Premium until the end of the period you've paid for.
  • There's no free trial and no lifetime plan.
  • Deleting the app or your Pricey account doesn't cancel a subscription.

Apple and Google handle refunds under their own policies. That doesn't affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (see clause 11).

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use bots, scripts or other automated tools to access Pricey, copy its data or create watches in bulk;
  • reverse engineer, decompile or modify the app, or try to get around plan limits, authentication or rate limits;
  • resell, redistribute or commercially use Pricey's data, including price history, without our written permission;
  • interfere with the service, test it for security weaknesses without our permission, or put unreasonable load on it;
  • send false or abusive listing reports; or
  • use Pricey for anything illegal.

9. Suspending or ending access

We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if your use threatens the security or stability of the service, or if the law requires it. Where it's reasonable, we'll warn you first.

You can stop using Pricey at any time and ask us to delete your data. See the deletion page. If we end your access without a good reason while you have a paid subscription, you can ask the relevant store for a pro-rata refund.

10. Intellectual property

We own Pricey, including its name, logo, mascot, design and software. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use.

Product names, brands, logos and trade marks shown in Pricey belong to their owners. Showing them doesn't mean those owners are connected with Pricey or endorse it.

11. Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or changes any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law that can't lawfully be excluded.

Our services come with guarantees that can't be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law, including that they'll be provided with due care and skill. If we fail to meet a consumer guarantee, you're entitled to a remedy under that law.

Where the law lets us limit our liability for failing to meet a consumer guarantee, our liability is limited, at our choice, to supplying the services again or paying for them to be supplied again.

12. Disclaimers and limits on liability

Always subject to clause 11, and as far as the law allows:

  • Pricey is provided “as is”. We don't promise it will always be available or free of errors, or that price information will be accurate, complete or current.
  • We're not liable for losses caused by an alert that was missed, late or never delivered, by a price that was wrong or out of date, or by a purchase you made based on information in the app.
  • We're not liable for anything a retailer does, including the supply, quality, delivery or refund of things you buy from them.
  • We're not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost profits, savings or opportunities.
  • Where our liability can't be excluded, the most we'll be liable for in total is the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $100 AUD.

13. Affiliate links

Some retailer links in Pricey are affiliate links, and we may earn a commission from them. This never changes the price you pay or which offer we show as cheapest. See the affiliate disclosure.

14. Privacy

How we handle your information is set out in the privacy policy, which is part of these terms.

15. Changes to Pricey and these terms

We may change, pause or stop features, and we may update these terms. If a change materially affects your rights, we'll tell you in the app or on this page before it takes effect, and update the date at the top. If you keep using Pricey after that date, you accept the updated terms.

16. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Tasmania, Australia. You and we agree that the courts there can hear disputes, though not exclusively. If you're a consumer, you keep the protection of the laws where you live.

17. Apple and Google

If you downloaded Pricey from the App Store or Google Play, these points also apply:

  • These terms are between you and us, not Apple or Google. We, not Apple or Google, are responsible for the app and its content.
  • Your licence to use the app is limited to Apple- or Google-branded devices you own or control, as allowed by the store's usage rules.
  • Apple and Google have no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app. Support comes from us.
  • If the app fails to meet a warranty that applies to it, you can tell Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price. To the extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app. Any other claims, losses or costs from a failure to meet a warranty are our responsibility, subject to these terms.
  • We, not Apple, are responsible for handling any claims about the app, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, and consumer protection or privacy claims.
  • If someone claims that the app or your use of it infringes their intellectual property, we, not Apple, are responsible for investigating, defending, settling and resolving that claim.
  • You confirm you're not in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as a “terrorist supporting” country, and you're not on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  • You must also follow the terms of any third-party service you use with the app, such as your mobile carrier or the Google or Apple account you sign in with.
  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms. Once you accept them, Apple can enforce them against you.
